Fire Door Installation

Fire door assemblies and doorsets should be installed correctly to ensure their fire integrity rating and over all performance and reliability.

Fire Door Maintenance

Fire door maintenance is critical for the fire safety of the building. Fire doors should be checked at least once every six months.

A fire door is a vital safety door, designed to save lives and properties. Certification gives reassurance that when needed, the door will hold back fire.

Why fit a new Fire Door?

When fire doors are installed, they create a “fire line” which delays fire from spreading from one area to another. The installation of fire doors in buildings, prevent fire invading other areas beyond the fire line (fire door), preserving the state of the rest of the building for upwards of 60 minutes depending on the type of door involved, whilst simultaneously aiding to the safety of those in the building.

Fire Door sets have two important functions:

  • During a fire, they form a physically closed barrier to prevent the fire passing beyond
    this point, when the door is fitted to the BM TRADA regulations. Ultimately it acts as
    a sealant to stop the fire spreading to other areas and causing further damage
  • 2) When open, they provide a means of escape, and once shut once one has passed
    through prevents the fire reaching them
